Your free Schufa Inquiry

SCHUFA, stands for “Schutzgemeinschaft für allgemeine Kreditsicherung” (General Credit Protection Agency) was founded in 1927. As Germany's leading credit bureau, SCHUFA remains a reliable source of information for corporate and private customers, holding credit rating information about 66.3 million persons and 4.3 million companies.

A SCHUFA report is needed frequently, for such transactions as:

  • for car financing
  • for hire-purchase of furniture or consumer electronics
  • for purchases on account in online shops and
  • for mobile phone contracts

In addition to this, consumers are able to check their SCHUFA profile:

  • transparency about their own data stored at SCHUFA,
  • proof of their creditworthiness (e.g. when renting a flat),
  • information about companies (e.g. about construction companies or craftsmen) and
  • help if their identity is stolen (e.g. if identification documents or confidential data on the internet are lost)

If you are interested in ordering an overview of you data hold at SCHUFA (according to § 34 BDSG) and details of inquiries regarding creditworthiness made by contracting parties during the past 12 months, please find the necessary form here, fill it out and send it per post at the address mentioned on page 2.

(Be aware that this overview is free and normally covers most of your needs. SCHUFA also offers an extended credit report you can order with the same form for 24,95 € but it is usually unecessary.)
